Story Behind The Scarf

The Hermès Oeillets Sauvages et Autres Caryophyllales (Wild Carnations and Other Caryophyllales) scarf is a celebration of botanical artistry and nature-inspired design, often noted for its delicate, intricate depiction of wild flowers.

The scarf was designed by Androniki Goulandris in 1990. The design centers on a detailed, realistic, and artistic study of wild carnations and related botanical species (Caryophyllales). It is known for its refreshing color palette, frequently featuring shades of green, light blue, navy, orange, and yellow against a white background, highlighting a refined and elegant aesthetic.

While many Hermès scarves tell stories of history, mythology, or travel, Oeillets Sauvages is a dedicated, poetic homage to flora.
