We Met Mona in the Italian Countryside
Some smiles stay with you. This one came from a 16th-century villa outside Verona, where SmithHönig co-founder and artist Melanie Hönig captured the original photograph that became this piece.
Through layering and digital manipulation, the image was transformed into something both modern and timeless. We call her Mona—because of that quietly enigmatic smile.
The palette—aqua, copper, rose, and gold—adds warmth, movement, and just enough intrigue to anchor a wall.
Part of the SmithHönig Art Collection, this piece reflects the spirit of our travels and our belief that a home should feel collected, personal, and alive with story.
Hang it alone, or mix it with vintage finds and other SmithHönig art for a gallery wall that feels discovered rather than designed.
