Vacation Rental of the Week: Orlando, Florida
It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for our Stylish Vacation Rental of the Week!
Today, we’re off to a themed vacation home in Orlando, Florida. This is a fun family getaway if you’re thinking of taking the kids to see Mickey. Each room of this holiday home is an adventure… with themes including the moon, a deserted island, a majestic forest and more.
Kids (and the kid in you) will definitely be intrigued! And you have to wonder if this house was designed by a Disney Imagineer.
This completely unique vacation rental is located in Reunion Resort, which is six miles from Walt Disney World. This is an exclusive, 2,300-acre community with loads of amenities.
You’ll find plenty of room for everyone: 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, a great room, a loft and a “drive-in” themed indoor theater. And this is Florida, so there’s also a private pool, hot tub and water views.
Check out the impressive details in this Disney-fied home stay.
GREAT ROOM
The great room is light and bright with views of the lanai and pool.
(Lanai is Floridian for patio, in case you’re not used to the word. Personally, I find it hard to say that word with a straight face. Don’t ask me why.)
The oversized u-shaped sectional, dining table and breakfast bar in the great room all have lots of room for dining, snacking or just hanging out. In this room, the theme is relaxed Florida coastal elegance.
OUTDOORS
Stunning water views are the first thing you’ll notice when you step out onto the lanai.
During the day you might catch glimpses of the herons and bald eagles that frequent the area. And every night, the Disney fireworks are visible in the distance.
There’s a summer kitchen with a large built-in gas grill and counter space for outdoor meal prep, plus plenty of lounge furniture – and of course, that awesome view!
THE NEW YORK, NEW YORK LOFT
This room features a New York skyline, some hip graffiti and a New York City Checkered Cab billiards table. You’ll also notice versions of Central Park and Times Square (plus a flat panel TV with Blu-ray) .
THE MOONLITE DRIVE-IN
This kitschy classic drive-in movie theater room is quite a place, from the classic car sofa, fake trees, harvest moon mural and a truck bed outfitted with a queen size bed.
If you read regularly, you’ll know this is not my usual cup of tea – but for a family getaway with kids, I could see it becoming my bag of jumbo popcorn…with a Coke and Raisenettes…and I could skip the tea altogether.
Plus, that 133” screen and state of the art surround sound is pretty awesome.
GAME ROOM
The game room features over 200 classic video games.
“CASTAWAY” MASTER BEDROOM 1
Real life water views merge with a palm tree wall mural in a way that manages to be both elegant and fun. This house is definitely miles away from any typical, nondescript vacation rental you’d find elsewhere.
The en-suite bathroom includes double vanities, separate walk-in shower and garden tub.
“BALLOON” MASTER BEDROOM 2
Up, up and away is the theme in this bedroom. The king bed is the “basket” of a hot air balloon, complete with clouds on the walls and classic travel decor. The bathroom has a double vanity, large walk-in shower and spacious closet.
“MOON” BEDROOM 3
This room features views of the Earth as seen from space and a Rocket-ship-inspired queen size bed. There’s even a NASA-inspired full bathroom with tub/shower.
“TREEHOUSE” BEDROOM 4
Kids would love sleeping and playing in their very own treehouse, surrounded by trees. Twin bunk beds, with connected bath. Perfect.
“THE HANGOUT” BEDROOM 5
This industrial-themed room features double bunks with four full mattresses providing four separate sleeping quarters, each with its own sense of space. There is also a huge 70” flat panel TV and Blu-ray. Gaminis g console with over 200 games, private balcony and an en-suite bath with a large walk-in shower. Oh yeah, and the floor made of 9,000 pennies!
Ok, are you on sensory overload?
You haven’t even been to the amusement park yet.
I hope you enjoyed previewing this fun, family getaway near the Magic Kingdom.
