Vacation Rental: Stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright House
Want to experience what it was really like to live in a Frank Lloyd Wright home? Here’s your chance. Schwartz House was a LIFE Magazine Dream House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, a historic fishing town.
The interior walls are done in Wright’s signature brick and cypress and there are two fireplaces in the living room. This house is even furnished with period-perfect dishes and accents so you can completely immerse yourself in Wright’s world.
“There is something…almost spiritual about being in a Wright space that leaves one transformed,” owner Michael says.
The home has a wide lawn with outdoor games. Wildlife at the bird feeder. And in town, there is a 120-year-old department store and outdoor music during the season. And since this is a fishing town, you’ll get choices of fresh catch from the local market.
You’ll really feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
Although this space is much too large for just Mr. H and me, it is certainly something to consider if you’re traveling through Pennsylvania. And if you can manage a longer road trip, consider visiting Wright’s magnificent masterpiece, Fallingwater and maybe even traveling on to Chicago.
On a trip like that, you’d be experiencing the birth of Modernism firsthand.
