Vacation Rental: Cottage in Asheville, North Carolina
This week’s Vacation Rental is in Asheville, North Carolina, one of my favorite places to visit. This holiday home is in the Great Smoky Mountains with a spectacular view – but just ½ hour from downtown Asheville with its restaurants, bars, shopping, festivals and of course, the famous Biltmore Estate.
Just look at how adorable this place is.
The owners are recording artist, cellist and conductor Ron Clearfield, and his wife, fine artist Rachel Clearfield. There is so much creative energy on this property that you can feel it. It’s a great spot for painters, photographers or writers looking for inspiration – or just nature lovers who want to get away.
Look at the surroundings. Have you ever stayed anywhere so charming? (If so, I want to know about it!)
Look at all the amazing bohemian style and creativity inside this cottage. Beautiful artwork. And a stunning mosaic floor called ‘Stepping Stones in a Flower Garden’. It’s made of Brazilian polished granite. The entire place is eco-friendly, too.
Don’t you just want to curl up on that bench while someone makes you breakfast?
In fact, there are lovely, comfortable window seats in other locations, too. So you can take in that amazing view.
There’s a perfect spiral staircase that leads to the second floor. And upstairs is an amazingly intricate mosaic bathroom shower, called ‘Magnolia Trees,” which is made of European marble and colorful stones.
The upstairs bedroom has a beautifully finished 100-year-old maple floor and painted clouds on the ceiling.
Outside there is a shade garden and a rose-covered gazebo, a creek, a bridge and flower gardens. There’s also a barbecue, camp fire and chiminea area.
I found this Vacation Rental of the Week on HomeAway. I haven’t stayed here, but I might! I have used HomeAway before and had a great experience. Here’s the direct link to this Asheville, North Carolina Cottage – go check out the videos, too!
