Are you looking for a little extra joy in your life right now? Skies may still be gray in some places – and we’re rethinking our usual celebrations – but we’re liking the idea of some amped up spring color.
At SmithHönig, we’re constantly looking to our designer friends for inspiration. Below are a few of our favorite spring tablescapes, full of color, pattern, tassels and whimsical table settings.
A BRIGHT FOCAL POINT
Designer Amie Freiling of Meme Hill Studio created a bright and beautiful Easter table, with her SmithHönig Thread Bare table runner taking center stage. The faded pink, white and turquoise colors in the runner were repeated in the elegant, mismatched china she used to compliment it. A lush floral arrangement featuring spring blossoms adds drama and style. Centerpieces also include moss-covered rabbits and organic bird nests filled with Easter eggs.
We love the special touches of handwritten place cards and golden cutlery. Those sweet turquoise eggs are gorgeous, too.
KEEPING IT LOW KEY WITH PAPER PLACEMATS
SmithHönig paper placemats come in 12 exclusive patterns, and are great for holidays, as well as everyday dining where and whenever you want to set a globally-inspired table.
For her spring tabletop, Sara Raak went with one of her favorite SmithHönig patterns, Bisnagar Stripe, in a fresh new colorway that’s warm and bright. Its yummy jewel-toned palette adds the perfect splash of color to Sara’s creative place settings.
“This is an economical way to entertain often and colorfully,” Sara says. “This is a no-excuse way to add interest to your table without any clean up or laundry. It’s a win win!”
We created our new paper placemats in some of your favorite existing patterns (like Moroccan Knot and Sebra Stripe). We’re debuting some new ones, too. Say hello to Iberia Gold, Kantha Saffron, Ludlow Street Smoke, and more.
PAIRING HIGH WITH LOW
Here’s another colorful tablescape from Sara Raak. This time, she used more of her signature paper products but she’s paired it with the luscious Ashes of Roses SmithHönig runner backed with velvet and fresh tulips.
She’s managed to create a dining experience that’s luxe and low maintenance, all at the same time. What’s better than that?
GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR CENTERPIECES
Why do normal? We love the look of this cloche-covered bouquet, once again paired with a Thread Bare runner.
PUT A TASSEL ON IT
If you didn’t already know, we love tassels. Kathy Bauer of Up to Date Interiors covered her dining room chairs in SmithHönig’s Thread Bare fabric (an easy DIY project), and layered her glass table with brass-topped tassels.
We love the subtle pattern-mixing here, as well as the glitz of gilt.
BONUS TIP – ADD SOME FRESH GREENERY
Our friend Stephanie at Casa Watkins Living loves color and DIYing just as much as we do. She had some fun using a woven basket, succulents, and a SmithHönig cowrie shell tassel for some added colorful decor.
Stephanie hung her “wreath” on her range hood, but we could see something similar as a centerpiece, too. What would you create?
