Yes, animal prints are having a moment right now, but as far as we’re concerned they’re always having a moment. They never go out of style. So it goes without saying that we’ve been wanting to add more animal prints to our collection.
You’ve probably seen Moxie, which is a playful and colorful zebra print, but we also wanted to do something totally sexy and maximalist. And what’s more sexy and maximalist than leopard print? We can’t wait one minute more to introduce you to our latest, Pantera.
Yeah, it’s a play on “Panthera” which basically means ‘big cat’ in just about every language, but more importantly, Pantera is rock ‘n’ roll, it’s edgy, sexy—making it the perfect name for our new collection.
Offered in three colorways—Tundra, Night and Forest—and available in both fabric and wallpaper, the pattern features a large-scale 13-inch panther, who we’ve also named Pantera. Take a look at him and you’ll see. He’s strong, sexy…he’s definitely “Pantera”.
We wanted to spice things up by having our leopard stalking through a field of exotic, statement-making blooms. It’s a pattern with everything—botanicals, animals, strong color, sensuality. We love the drama of this print and the opportunity to layer in color and pattern in so many different ways.
True maximalists would say “leopard is a neutral” and they’re not wrong. It goes with everything, which is why it was a no-brainer for us to add a coordinating leopard print, called Fancy Pants, to the collection. For this one, we went a little more playful. The colorway paired with the Pantera collection is Beau, after the famous English dandy Beau Brummel. It’s a name synonymous with style and good looks. You’ve probably already seen the Bob colorway as part of the Moxie launch.
Both Pantera and Fancy Pants Beau are offered as wallpaper and in a lush velvet fabric with a subtle shimmer, which is just perfect for upholstery and drapes. You can also order the patterns as peel-and-stick wallpaper, which we love because it’s so easy to use: simply peel, stick, et voilá, makeover magic. Zero muss and fuss plus the ability to reposition it equals commitment-free decor, perfect for the DIYers, commitment-phobes, or those free spirits who just change their mind a lot.
In addition to the wallpaper, fabric and trim that anchors this collection, we’re excited to be able to offer coordinates we feel make the entire Pantera experience as dramatic and sexy as the name promises. Coordinates include:
- Our Hot Tropics pillow, which features our sexy beast surrounded by a medallion of flowers. The best news? It comes in indoor (velvet) and outdoor versions!
- The Solitude pillows – a bit quieter, but still featuring Pantera, our big cat, this time on a solid background of velvet.
- Our super luxe (and cruelty-free) velvet pillows featuring our coordinating marmalade trim. Multiple colorways and sizes.
- The Broadway, a wide band of sophisticated decorative trim woven from natural jute and poly. We can see this decorative border on everything from sofas, pillow cases, curtains, lamp shades and more. It’s as durable as it is stylish.
- The Verymore, a dramatic and playful fringe trim with natural jute elements and rich color. The trim’s bold 5″ Knotted Chunky Tassel Fringe is perfect for drapes, pillows – or whatever your creative heart desires. Like we always say, when in doubt, put some tassels on it!
Speaking of tassels, we also have coordinating tassels to complete the collection.
We love the drama of this collection, and the opportunity for layering in color and pattern in so many different ways. Tundra is the cream background, which makes it bold, but not too bold, while the Forest green is just so rich, and the Night option is the ultimate in sexy.
While it’s dramatic and bold, thanks to all of the options, we can see this collection in almost any space. It would be a beautiful powder room, and could go totally wild or quite traditional: Imagine Pantera Night with a black marble vanity and crystal sconces. Totally regal! Or as a smashing Mid-Century Modern living room, maybe with some vintage Eames chairs, a massive Sputnik chandelier and bookcase full of signed first editions of Beat poetry. And it would make quite an interesting bedroom—rrarrrr.
Honestly, we’d love to see it in dining rooms, libraries, entryways—we’d put it pretty much anywhere. And depending on how dramatic you want to be, pieces in this collection could be used in any room. Use just one or mix and match.
You should never hesitate to make a statement in your home, and our Pantera collection definitely allows you to do just that. What we love about it is that animal prints are always splurge-worthy. They never go out of style and we think every room should have a bit of cruelty free animal print, somewhere.
Really, is a room finished without a touch of leopard? Add Pantera to your home.
